Emily Ware
Design Consultant

Educational Background: Virginia Tech, Bachelor’s Degree in Residential Environments and Design, a major that emphasized kitchen and bath design and trained using NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility standards.

Professional Attributes: Proficient knowledge of Kitchen and Bath Design, Universal Design, and Residential Design. Drafting experience includes CAD programs such as Chief Architect, 20/20, and Sketchup, as well as the old school hand drafting.

Experience: Before moving to Charlotte, Emily worked as a Project Coordinator in Virginia, serving as both the project manager and designer for residential and commercial projects. This role taught her all sides of the construction world from designing and estimating to trade collaboration, project supervision, and final punch walks. Following the drive to further expand her design experience she moved to Charlotte, but before joining Urban Building Group she worked as the sole designer for a small builder. She has since enjoyed the knowledgeable collaboration with Urban’s well-versed Design and Production Teams.

A bit about her: As a detail-oriented perfectionist, she is constantly looking to implement the most efficient, functional, yet aesthetically pleasing designs when collaborating with clients. She has always found herself organizing and re-organizing spaces and has been drawn to art and architecture since a young age. Her favorite part of the job is following a project from beginning to end, watching the transformative process of projects coming to life. When she is not behind the computer designing, she enjoys discovering a new dish to cook, hanging out at a local brewery, or rafting at the USNWC. If you need to find her, she is likely at any pet-friendly spot with her goofy pup or cheering on the Hokies!
