Thank you so much! It really has been great working with the UBG team over the past year and I am not sure we are ready for it all to come to an end. What will we think of next?

Role at UBG:
Susan touches every project that Urban Building Group takes on. She plays a primary role in managing our planning process from design development all the way through project permitting. Susan coordinates with the office team and project managers to keep the planning process and production of the projects on track and on budget. She assists the design department, ensuring our process is maintained as we proceed through working plans and finally obtaining a permit for the projects. Susan is extremely polite yet persistent and ensures each and every project is completed to the highest standards. Susan also plays an integral role in the hiring and retention professional and knowledgeable subcontractors and employees to assist UBG in the construction phase.  Well qualified personnel, who we can trust to meet our expectations is an important aspect to our success. She also manages the office, maintaining the day to day aspects that keep the business running efficiently. We attribute much of the success of our growth and client satisfaction to her calm and steady leadership. In addition to her day to day activities Susan is also a member of John’s executive team which is tasked with making all the necessary decisions to maintain and grow UBG in the proper direction.

Background:
Susan’s experience and love for building started as a young girl in the South where she was exposed to the industry by her father who was a welder and construction entrepreneur. Her father exposed her to the trades at a young age as he worked on his rental properties and bought investment properties to fix up and sell.  By grade school Susan could install tile, vinyl flooring and help her father paint. Susan hung her tool belt up briefly to attend school and raise her two boys. Since her return to the industry some 20 years ago Susan has managed over 50 million dollars in projects. She has spent time in the residential and commercial construction sector as well as in the design sector, having worked for some of the area’s most prestigious custom home builders, design firms and remodelers. She enjoys cooking, home-improvement, gardening, traveling and hiking with Doug, her husband of 38 years. Susan’s favorite thing to do though is to play with her three beautiful grandchildren.
